Learn to sail this summer

Our Learn to Sail week (Tuesday 29th July to Friday 1st August) gives adults and youngsters a chance to learn to sail and gain an RYA qualification this summer. It's 4 days of sailing tuition that will set you up to enjoy a full summer afloat. RYA Stages 1 and 2 are suitable for youngsters aged 8 to 14, and RYA Level 1: Start Sailing, and RYA Level 2: Basic Skills are for age 14+ and adults.

• RYA Stages 1 and 2 are for those aged 8+. Learn to rig and launch with assistance, sail with supervision from a safety boat. All the basics needed to join activities like Boat Camp and OnBoard.
• RYA Level 1 Start Sailing is for those aged 14+, including adults. Go from complete novice to having a good grasp of the basics, able to sail a boat around a simple course with minimum supervision from your instructor. 
• RYA Level 2 Basic Skills is again for those aged 14 plus and builds on Level 1. This takes you to a standard where you should be able to confidently sail on all points of sail in a single person dinghy. It also provides important knowledge such as weather, tides and how a sail works.
